A ton of planets now found in the Goldilocks Zone!

The Kepler Space Telescope, which is orbiting the sun (near earth), has found 461 planets in the Goldilocks zone of their respective stars!!! Kepler orbits the sun, not the earth. It points to one place in the sky continuously. It is named after
Johannes Kepler. The founder of the type of orbit that the telescope rotates in.

Alien Planet! Full one and a half hour video.

This is the special from National Geographic called Alien Planet. It is one and a half hours long, so be prepared to take some time on it. This is all theoretical (of course), but is very fascinating! I would think that we would do something similar, if we found a planet that had a 75% possibility that life was found on it.

Enjoy! :-)

Cookies, Space exploration, and Code Red

So, we made cookies late last night. They were Red Velvet Cookies. They were really good!

I learned about yet another space company that used to work for NASA applying for funding from them. They aren't receiving funding, but are now working to send ships to the ISS (International Space Station). They are based out of Utah. Their name is STK. Here is a video found on the articles website from Space.com.

I just went to Circle K and got a Code Red soda for my wife and I. I put extra caffeine and B12 vitamins in it for an extra kick!

That's it so far! :-)

Photo of the day, good music, good food, and good company! :-)

Photo of the day here:

I just made a cheese, beef and oil/vinegar, and corn tortila sandwich. It was a little on the salty side, but it hit the spot!

I ate it too fast for me to take a photo of it :-( I know, I should share... sorry.

Good company! My wife... Right now she is doing crocheting. She says that it is a very complicated starfish that she is trying to make. She is following the instructions from a youtube video... Here's the video:

Music on a Saturday afternoon

This is what my wife and I are listening to right now... Happy Saturday Everyone! I hope that you're either working hard or relaxing at home. :-)

Awesome breakfast

My wife made the most awesome breakfast! At first she made pesto pockets. Pesto pockets are simply corn tortillas with cheese and pesto melted in then folded over. Next she made eggs with diced bell peppers. With that came tomato soup. It was a breakfast made for kings! Very good!!!

Watched movies, ate popcorn, made dinner, and watched astroids

The first movie I watched today was called "The Dinosaur Project."

Click the image to see  preview:

It was a slow movie with bits of action in it. There wasn't muh suspense either. Good special effects though.

The second movie I watched was called "Mr Poppers Penguins"

Click the image below to see the preview:

The cast was good with a few famous actors. The plot had one stream. Not much to it. But, it was a touching movie that dealt in love, children and little smart penguins.

The third, yes, the third movie I watched was "Total Recall." A 2012 film that featured a couple of famous actors. The plot was thick with double agents, love triangles, memory loss, and trying to save the world. This movie was much more action packed.

Click the image below to see a preview of this movie from IMDB.com:

I made boneless, skinless chicken breast for dinner. I only put salt and pepper on it. Nothing special. My wife also made her famous tacos with her secret recipe.

What I did this morning was look at an article from Space.com. I'll try to embed the movie into this article. It talks about a meteor coming really close to the earth. In fact it will travel between the earth and the moon. It might even knock a few satellites out of orbit....

If it worked you should be able to play the video from here. If not, here is the link:

Well that's what I've done so far today. Next I'm off to clean the kitchen and make some corn tortilla sandwiches (gluten free).

Until next time :-)

NASA, popcorn balls and a movie

NASA is looking for dark energy along side the Europeans. Dark energy is very similar to, what could be coined as light energy. It has dark electrons, dark protons and neutrons. The only difference is that when combined with light energy, both energies or masses dissipate. It follows the same phenomenon as two sound waves of the same frequency colliding. The sound waves cancel each other out and no more sound is heard.

The only problem is that, mathematically, all energies should have canceled each other out, if we are to follow Newtons law. One of his laws states that to every action there is an equal or opposite reaction.

We just made marshmallow popcorn balls. We made them by popping the popcorn using an air popper, melted six table spoons of butter in the microwave while, at the same time heating up a skillet on the stove. We poured the melted butter onto the skillet and made sure that it was hot (on the medium setting for the burner). We then put a whole bag of marshmallows into the pan with the butter, mixed it until the whole thing was a white creamy paste, then poured the melted marshmallow liquid on top of the popcorn slowly while mixing it into the bowl. We put it into the refrigerator for ten minutes then enjoyed a sweet treat!

SOOOooo Good!!!

While eating these sweet treats we watched the movie "Chocolat" it has a few famous actors in it like Carrie-Anne Moss and Alfred Molina. It is a story of a chocolate shop being opened in a small town that practices the Catholic faith. The shop was opened during the first week of lint. Lint is a practice of sacrificing your indulgences (like having chocolate) for five weeks prior to Easter. As you could probably guess, the mayor of the town wasn't too pleased with her Chocolate shop. I'll leave the rest of the movie for you to watch for yourself. :-)

Good day so far :-)

Interesting Facts

According to this article the Dung Beetle orients itself according to the bright area of the sky made from our Milky Way Galaxy. That's a pretty cool discovery! It makes me wonder what science hasn't figured out, that occurs within other species, as well.

I just made my wife and I the famous hamburger meat, Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese, and oil & vinegar dressing with two slices of multi-grain bread sandwich. It was delicious!

In other news, a competition to make the most versatile robot is underway. The winner gets two million dollars. I have been reading about this in the magazine Popular Science. There will be an eight part obstacle course laid out for each robot to traverse. The obstacles would be a little difficult for humans. For robots, it would be almost impossible to pass all eight sections of the course. Popular Science is one of my favorite magazines. Other favorites of mine are Discovery Magazine, National Geographic and Popular Mechanics.

Right now I am listening to my religion's scriptures. It is talking about commandments and blessings of following them. The blessings are things like becoming strong, having the spirit of the Lord with you, seeking and you will find, and knocking and it will be  opened to you.

I haven't really noticed how much of a religious person I am, until I started keeping track of how often I say prayers and how often I listen to the scriptures. I guess I am pretty religious. I say my prayers over my food, in the morning when I wake up, and at night before I go to sleep. I listen to the scriptures and talks from my church website as well. That's a lot of religious studying. I really don't mind doing these things, and they're hardly even noticeable. I have been doing these things my whole life, so that's probably the reason why I don't notice how often I practice my religion. I also don't watch rated "R" movies, and am cautious towards "PG-13" movies. I don't  cuss. I don't drink alcohol. I don't drink teas. Herbal teas are fine. I don't smoke or do any drugs. Overall I don't do a lot of things that are seen as acceptable with most everyone else. Granted there are those who follow the same standards who aren't a part of the Mormon religion. To them I say, "good job!" A person really doesn't need to get high, have a buzz, smoke, or watch filthy films to have a good time. "That's very commendable of you!" I would say to them.

Breakfast, and a late start

This morning I made a great tasting sandwich for my wife. It was made of hamburger meat, oil and vinegar dressing, italian seasoning, melted mozzarella cheese, real mayonaise and of course toasted multi-grain bread. I had oatmeal with my favorite flavored jam (peach). Mine was delicious! My wife told me that she loved hers as well!

I hope that you all are having a great morning so far! It might not be morning any more, where you're at, but it's still morning here.

I woke up at nine this morning. I went to sleep too late last night and couldn't get up in time to do networking for http://creativepowerscomputers.com. Tonight, I need to get to sleep around nine thirty or ten. That way I'll be sure to have energy in the wee hours of the morning to get up and out the door. I think that I'll go out during rush hour tonight to make up for lost time.

Just a random fact I'd like to share... This is my home page on the internet when I first start up my web browser (Google Chrome).

I have an interactive hamster that I feed. His name is Zero.1. I have my email next to that. On the top right is my wife's blog updates. I get the updates every time she posts something new. She writes poetry on there. Her blogging address is http://a-time-of-milk-and-honey.blogspot.com/. Below Zero.1 is the most recent movies in my area. Going to the right (the bottom middle of the page) is the most recent news articles from http://google.com/news. And, on the bottom right is my daily calendar. That's it :-)

Have a great day!

The crazy cat has awoken!

Tokyo just got too comfortable in our house! He is terrorizing anything he can find! If he acts the same after he gets neutered, he will be going bye, bye. He is being a huge pest!

Other than that, I have been listening to music and chilling with my wifey. We listened to Louie and a special mix of easy music that is calming. The playlist has artists like Enya, Enigma, Jem, and Norah Jones to name a few.

I am waking up early to do cold contact networking... I take the bus and start conversations with any one I'm able to. I then transition into a question of if they have a good working computer, or not. If they're having trouble with their computer, I tell them about my business called, " Creative Powers Computers." I just ordered 500 business cards to exchange phone numbers or emails for.

Well, I'm getting tired, and I think that I'll go talk with my darling wife for a while before I get too groggy.

Night :-)

Seeds for my wife

She wants seeds for her garden super badly! The garden isn't even set up yet... I couldn't find any seeds at Safeway. She is flipping out teasingly! She says, "I'll sell my soul for a packet of seeds!!!"

That's hilarious!... I think that I'll get a computer game for her that is simply a virtual plant that grows when she takes care of it. I think that will satisfy her for a few, until I can get the seeds out of the closet. Lol! It's fun watching her flip out though, so I think I'll hold off on everything for now lol!

 What she wishes she had...

Watching a sermon

Right now I am watching a sermon from my church's broadcasting website... There are good messages being shared!

Click the image below to  watch it with me:

Dinner

For dinner I'm making long noodles with melted mozzarella cheese, olive oil and vinegar dressing and hamburger beef with italian seasoning. The house smells great! Just waiting for the water to boil for the noodles. I'll then add the noodles; boil them for ten minutes, drain the water out using a syve, add the shredded mozzarella cheese, oil and vinegar dressing and beef... Then it'll be ready to serve! :-)

MMmmm, MMmmm!

My trip to Safeway

The above link is some of the songs that I listen to on my "Relax To The Noise" playlist. The link goes to playlist.com.

Do you ever get that feeling that everyone is listening to the music that you're listening to? I do. When I was in Safeway (the local grocery store) I was happy and full of energy because of the music I was listening to. I assumed that everyone else was happy as well, but when I took my earbuds out, I noticed how stressed out everyone looked. It was a shock!

At Safeway, I bought laundry detergent, TP, two chocolate milks from Starbucks (one for me and one for my wife), and cream cheese cake icing. The icing is for a birthday cake, that my wife is making for our friends birthday party on Saturday. She is  planning on making two cakes. One for the party and one for us. She has two heart shaped pans for the cakes.

This is what the cake should look like with the white cream cheese frosting:

There was a lady at the Starbucks that was pretty rude to the worker. She was impatient and told the worker to hurry... I later found out that there was no reason for the haste. I saw her walking slowly down the sidewalk on my way home. She was very thin, like she is a heavy drug user, bulimic or anorexic. I kinda felt sorry for her,  but violent words have no excuse no matter what the circumstances. A controlled tongue is not always easy, but is possible in every situation.

On My Way to Safeway

I'm on my way to Safeway listening to my relax to the noise playlist... I wonder if I can add the playlist so you can hear what I'm listening to on this blog?

Almost forgot to eat breakfast!

I put oatmeal in the microwave and forgot to get it out to eat! Man, I'm hungry! Need to add a little raspberry jam to it as well... mmm mmm!

Woke up

I just woke up, and want to go to Starbucks to get myself a nice hot chocolate! I got an assignment from Julie though. I need to go to the dollar store and get a four pack of toilet paper. We are on our last roll. I gotta take out the trash, though, first. I also want to clean the kitchen a little. In the mean time, I'll post a photo of our dog, Pumpkin.

I already posted one of my cat, Tokyo. So I thought it only fair to post one of Pumpkin :-)

Peace out. Gotta go clean the kitchen and take out the trash... oh the joys of chores...

Couldn't finish "9" tonight... got too tired.

If I had a little more energy, I would finish the movie, but sleep is a necessary evil... I was going to clean house as well, but not tonight... there's always tomorrow. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

"9" the 2009 movie by Shane Acker

Just now about to watch "9." It is a fantasy/sci fi movie about toy dolls that carry parts of the creators soul. His soul was split up into 9 of his creations. They are on a journey to recapture their brothers who were taken by the machines. Plus they need a special gadget that the machines took, as well, so that they can accomplish their goal. I don't remember exactly what their goal is, so I'll tell you when the movie is over :-)

Shameless

We are now shamelessly eating our well deserved vanilla pudding... Good Stuff!!!

Fun little fact:

There is a little known fact, or perception, that when a person moves along the surface of the moon, the perceived distance that you travel is further than the actual distance that you have traveled. This is caused by the smaller circumference of the moon. It changes the way we are used to seeing the horizon come closer while we, as humans, move towards it on earth. The horizon comes closer, sooner than that of earths. And, although, a person could travel the same distance on the moon, it would seem that the distance was further because of this phenomenon.

Cool Space GIF

I thought you all would enjoy this :-) (from the International Space Station no doubt).

We feel like a treat!

So, I am going to make vanilla pudding with coconut shavings and extra vanilla... yum, yum! I am also going to get a soda from the machine out by the front desk for seventy five cents. We are both going to stay up all night and clean/reorganize the house. The place will look great by 5am for sure!

I also got a new cat! He is part Tabby; part Siamese. He is slowly getting used to our dog. He still raises his back a little while our dog is roaming around. My wife doesn't like him too much yet... I think that they both will warm up to each other soon though. I named my cat Tokyo. He is pretty smart!

Here is Tokyo. I thought that an oriental name would be suiting for a half Siamese cat.

Hanging out with my wife :-)

Right now I'm hanging out with my wife. She is talking about making a garden in our home. She just bought a full spectrum lamp, for our plants to grow in and a germination station. She is excited to get it going! All she needs are seeds and dirt... She is waiting for the pods to put the seeds in from the United States Postal Service. The light and germination station came by UPS. It was a lot faster with them.

Don't Cut the Cheese Please!!!

Truckload of burning cheese closes tunnel for five days

What burns for five days and smells delicious? Why, Norwegian brown cheese, of course. A two-mile-long tunnel near the Norwegian town of Narvik was closed for five days after a truck containing 27 metric tons of brunost, a brown cheese that is a delicacy in Norway, caught fire last Thursday and was finally put out on Monday. The "high concentration of fat and sugar is almost like petrol if it gets hot enough," a policeman said of the burning cheese, which has a 30 percent fat content and tastes like caramel (yum). An official for the country's public roads said it was the first time in his career that he'd seen cheese catch fire in a road. You don't say!

From research of clones, and the previous articles that I have read about cloning, they don't live very long for some reason or another. Cloning a human is ethically wrong in my opinion. We don't know what we are doing when it comes to genes, and the full complexities of human life (scientifically speaking). That's my opinion.

I Just watched a preview for the movie "Anna Karenina"

I Just watched a preview for the movie "Anna Karenina."

It seemed like a musical, but haven't watched it. I don't think I will because it's "R" rated. I hardly even watch PG-13 movies any longer because of the gross content!

I just finished watching "Dumbo" the old 1941 Disney movie :-)

When I was younger, I thought that it came out in my decade (1980's). It amazes me how good a film can be even after many years have past since it's making.

In the noteworthy news (not the presidents inauguration), regulators discover a hidden viral gene in commercial GMO crops. These Bio-Engineered crops cause tumors in humans because of gene VI. Gene VI is introduced into many types of plants. So far, the viral gene is found in corn and kidney bean crops throughout Europe! The gene disables it's host. This could mean a recall of all plants found with the gene! Bad news for anyone who used the gene to increase crop yields.
